NTUA is the oldest and most prestigious technical university in Greece. It was founded in 1837 and has since been contributing to the progress of the engineering science in Greece. The University comprises nine departments, each one covering a different aspect of the engineering field. The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the National Technical University of Athens is well known in Greece and abroad for the research achievements of its faculty members and the good reputation of its students and alumni.

The Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) is a research organisation associated with the School of ECE and has about 40 laboratories and research units presently active which are established by the implementation of several structural programmes.

The Distributed, Knowledge and Media Systems Group (DKMS), is research laboratory operating under ICCS, conducting research in topics such as Service Oriented Architectures, Cloud/Edge Computing, blockchains and Internet of Things. Related Projects which our group has led or participated: M-Sec, Bloomen, BigClouT, DITAS, CloudPerfect, CoherentPaaS, 4CaaSt, COSMOS, Optimis, Ponte,  etc.

I2CAT is a non-profit technology and innovation centre located in Barcelona, Spain, which promotes R+D+i activities in Internet Technologies within the ICT industry. The centre stands up for a new model in a new conception of innovation: the collaboration between companies, public administration, the academic environment and end-users. Thus, it eases an open innovation framework, characteristic of the Internet culture.

The vision of i2CAT is to achieve Internet excellence in research and innovation activities applied to the market needs, and become an international strategic partner driving the deployment of the Internet across the economic, industrial and social sectors. Its board is based on an open innovation collaboration model ranging in all sectors mentioned before. Some board members are: Cisco, Orange, Fujitsu, Juniper, Interoute and Vodafone, plus four Catalan government departments and the three main technical universities of Catalonia, led by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). I2CAT’s activities are concentrated around, but not limited to, novel network services and technologies (fixed and mobile), open access networks, sensor networks, e-health, networked media systems and industrial Internet, with special focus on NFV and SDW/N technologies, new clean slate architectures, Future Internet experimentation, sensor networks, IoT, M2M, with EC footprint in 67 projects (1 FP6, 31 FP7, 24 H2020, 6 CIP and 5 in other EU areas), having coordinated 11 of them.

Holo-Light is a tech company based in Munich, Germany, recognized as a pioneer in developing Augmented and Mixed Reality solutions for Enterprises, many of which are already implemented by global market leaders in several verticals and use cases.We are also pioneering in tackling the biggest issues in fully actualizing the potential of AR and MR. Through the development of deep tech we render, per example, 3D content remotely on edge computing systems and 5G infrastructures with low-latency data transmission and our revolutionary input device Holo-Stylus (Winner in 2018 of the “German Innovation Award” and the “Auggie Award” for the best input device at Augmented World Expo in Santa Clara) allows user to naturally and precisely interact with 3D content.

FILL is an Austrian worldwide leading mechanical engineering and plant construction company. It has a comprehensive portfolio ranging from woodworking machines and production systems for the industrial composite production to metal working machines. A big part of the turnover is made with machines specially fit to the customers’ requirements. With the beginning of the development in 2007 and the entry into the market in 2010, FILL is also intensively engaged in the field of product-accompanying software applications and services. The focus is on additional applications for machine data acquisition and productivity optimization. These software applications and data management solutions for industrial production facilities are the basis of cyber-physical systems and the visions of Industry 4.0. Their technical knowledge in machine construction, software engineering and data management combined with many years of practical experience are FILL’s competences.

Innovation Acts Ltd. is a unique ICT and business consulting firm, which offers (among others) software development and business consulting services, project management and software development for services for different sectors, with particular emphasis on FinTech. Its consulting services are based on the founders excellent know how in IoT, BigData/AI, blockchain and Cyber-Security technologies. The FinTech consulting services of the company include business modelling, business planning and techno-economic analysis services, as well as design and implementation of financial services solutions based on distributed ledger technologies.
